Very exciting time of late, the Drag Interhunt Team competed for the first time ever at Royal Windsor Horse Show where they put up a great performance. See the FB page for photos of Kate Brooks, Gina Weare, Charlie Marshall and Jane Milan in action. Due to an unfortunate oversight they were not told they had reached the final eight, but never mind this was a great first appearance of the Inter Hunt Relay season.
Richard Defago, after a long fight for his jockey’s licence posted a 3rd at Pepper Harrow on Gamato in the Club Members race with Peter Bull 3rd in the Mens Open on Master T and Cynthia Woods 3rd in a strongly contested Ladies with Roaring Water. Cynthia also posted a brilliant win on Little Legend in the Hunter Chase at Fakenham.
Suzy Bull has been out eventing at South of England as was Kelly Frye, Sandy Watts and Sue and Peter Webb’s drag horse Henry was a close 4th in the Intermediate Section with 16 year old Laura, who is determined to come out dragging next season.
Next up Bath and West and South of England for the Inter Hunt teams and Fontwell Hunter Chase evening on 16th May – good luck to all of our jockeys racing for the final trophies of the season in the South East. Drag hunting is thrilling and offers ‘a real craic’ for the competent rider; it’s suitable for many point to pointers, event horses as well as good hunters and bold ponies too. Meets are throughout the South East from Hickstead in the west to Meopham in the east and from Warlingham on the North Downs to Dallington in the south.
